Giraffes at Indy Hall Birthday Party
Ferry, Mark, and myself joined the Indy Hall Crew for their 1 Year Birthday Party at Triumph Brewing Company in Old City this past Sunday. It was quite a good time. I recently bought a Flip Video Camera and documented some of the evenings Shenanigans. I hope I'm not making any enemies by posting all these videos (Which are not totally in order): The beginning of th ...

Yoda the Giraffe is high tech
An "anonymous South Devon benefactor with a fondness for giraffes gave the zoo £36,000" which they purchased a structure for Yoda as well as other giraffes to stand in for safer veterinarian exams. A giraffe named Yoda? That's just awesome! Now if they could only get Yoda a lady friend, he's be all set.

Take a screenshot on OSX while DVD is playing
When watching a DVD, the finder in OSX turns off the ability to take a screen shot. You can get around this by opening Terminal, and typing in the following:
screencapture -i ~/Desktop/screenshot.png
Terminal is located here:
Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
This will put screenshot.png on your desktop.

Local Development with MAMP
I've recently been playing around with MAMP and setting up all the sites I work on locally. I also wanted to test htaccess modrewrite (post on this to come) but am not ready to pony up for MAMP Pro at this time for the easy Virtual Host support. I accomplished this with the help of Eli Horne and he had the same idea about writing it up (which coincidentally went up s ...

Internet Explorer and Disabling Javascript
I do not intend to start a Browser War, or a Mac vs. PC crusade, but I was amazed when I discovered how deep in IE's menu's to disable javascript. Tools->Internet Options->Security Tab->Internet->Custom Level->Scripting->Active Scripting->Disable They don't even use the word Javascript, which makes it extra difficult to find, in my opinion. Google lead me to thi ...

Frustrations with Disqus and openID
Over the weekend, I started to look into Disqus.com, which is a commenting system for sites which supports openID. Unfortunately I have yet to be able to sign up with them as I do not want to create yet another new account with a service. They support multiple openID providers, such as wordress.com, which I already have an account for. This should be easy, right?
